The Music of REZ PLZ

When we started working on REZ PLZ, I very early on knew that we wanted the game to be fun, morbid, and not take itself too seriously. So when we started thinking about what kind of music we wanted for the game, we knew something with an 80’s campy movie influence would be a good fit .

That’s when we reached out to The Curtain Puller, an incredibly talented UK based artist that completely understood what we were looking for. He’s incredibly good at understanding my not-musically-educated direction, and turning our inspirations into distinctly fun tracks that felt right at home in our universe.

The REZ PLZ title track was one of the first tracks we worked on, and we couldn’t be happier with it. We really wanted it to feel like the title music to an old school zombie movie, with a sense of adventure and possibility. A recurring theme in the sound of the game is the synthesizer, which I think perfectly connects the retro influenced pixel art to the deadly, but not to serious, sense of adventure we want players to experience.

The rest of the soundtrack is equally if not more awesome! We’re so impressed by the work The Curtain Puller did for us! Every track has a distinctive style and genre of influence, while still keeping with the over all theme off the game. We hope you’ll love all the tracks in the game as much as we do! :)
