About our game
"In the most dire time in history, the fate of the world is in the unlikely hands of two apprentice wizards, Arcan and Zeph. They are not heroes, they're barely even students of heroes. in fact, they don't know any spells. the only magic they have is a scroll allowing them to resurrect each other if they are accidentally killed bumbling up a spell during their studies.
They are not necessarily made up of the” stuff of heroes”, but they are the only hope humanity has. After a thousand year pact, an order of wizards have decided to upset the balance and destroy all other magic in the world in an ascent to absolute control and dominion over the realm."
In REZPLZ, you control two wizard brothers (single or local 2p co-op) to traverse the 5 evil wizard’s keeps of the Dark Arcanum where death and dismemberment isn't just a consequence, it's a part of the adventure! REZPLZ features traditional 2D platforming elements, as well as unique puzzling in the form of coordinated movement and one brother dying in unique ways to allow the other brother to progress. Truth be told, these brothers aren't very good wizards. in fact, in the beginning, they only know one spell, and that's the spell of resurrection. When one dies, the other can resurrect on a safe space them near them.
The game is not designed to be easy. There is no health bar, just Lazarus stones used for resurrections. Everything will one hit kill you (often in gloriously awful ways) sometimes it's a means to an end, other times, mistakes were made. You must rely on cunning, skill, and your brother to keep you both from being dead at the same time and going back to your last checkpoint or restarting the level all together (remember when games made you do that?)
Long Neck Games is happy to join the long list of would be indie game developers hoping to take the leap from playing great games to creating them. Due in no small part to the vast libraries of free education available on the series of tubes we call the "interweb", Nate was able to teach himself to code in a very short amount of time, inbetween his other gigs as a server, martial artist, stunt man, and acrobat. When this project began, Josh was making a living off his art. So it was a natural match to have him create the look and atmosphere of RezPlz. As a black belt, Nate has applied the same dedication, attention to detail, and passion into creating RezPlz, and has gone from a basic understanding of Word, to coding a working game in less than a year. He continues to expand his knowledge on all fronts of the video game industry. Josh is as talented as he is handsome and tall, and at 6'7" that means quite a bit. The brothers hope to secure enough funding to dedicate a larger portion of their time to the game, as they are both working to support themselves, and there is only so much time in a day.
